SANTO DOMINGO. -The Cibao Savings and Loan Association reported that, in its most recent review of July 2025, the risk rating firm Feller Rate ratified solvency rating at A+ with stable prospects, along with the A Rating for its Subordinated Debt issuances for DOP 3,000 million (SIVEM-121) and DOP 2,500 million (SIVEM-156).
This decision reaffirms the financial strength of the mutual institution and its position as one of the country's leading savings and loan associations. According to the report, the rating's ratification is based on strong capital backing , as well as its capacity to generate revenue and its appropriate risk profile.
Luis Peña, Executive VP of Strategy and Finance, shared after receiving the rating that this result is consistent with the strategy of sustainable growth, innovation and closeness with its associates that characterizes the entity.
"The reaffirmation of our A+ rating with a stable outlook reflects our commitment to financial management, service quality, and social responsibility, ensuring the well-being of our associates and the development of communities," he added.
As of the end of March 2025, the solvency ratio stood at 36.6% , significantly above the minimum required by financial regulation, which demonstrates the strength of Cibao's capitalization levels.
Regarding financial performance, Feller Rate highlighted that, at the close of the first half of 2025, the Association reached a total of DOP 102,631 million in assets, registering a relevant market share in the association system and in the national financial sector in this area, with 26.5% and 2.6%, respectively.
Likewise, the net loan portfolio reached DOP 60,761 million, with a controlled delinquency rate of 1.6% and a provision coverage ratio of 1.8 times, highlighting the prudent management of credit risk and the quality of assets.
Furthermore, the institution maintained a level of liquid assets equivalent to 54.9% of total deposits, demonstrating its ability to respond to potential changes in the financial environment.
