SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Republic continues to break records in the tourism industry , registering the arrival of 9,082,298 visitors in the first ten months of this year and 719,849 in October alone .
This was reported on Wednesday by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado , when presenting the statistics on the sector's performance in October, after indicating that the 9,082,298 visitors reflect a growth of 47% compared to the same period in 2019, 35% compared to 2022 and 10% compared to last year.
6,984,569 tourists by air during the period January-October , representing a growth of 30% more than in 2019, 20% above 2022 and 7% higher than last year.
He said that this growth in the January-October period is also observed by sea , with the arrival of 2,097,729 cruise passengers.

"And those two arrivals bring us to the extraordinary number of 9,082,298 visitors in the first ten months of this year. Yet another record for our tourism," Collado emphasized.
Collado stated that October was another great month for Dominican tourism, noting that 554,169 tourists , representing a increase compared to the same month in 2019, 13% more than in 2022, and 4% higher than last year .
He also indicated that in October the arrival of cruise passengers was 165,680 , 155% more than the same month in 2019, 88% above 2022 and 88% compared to last year .
"Thanks to these arrivals by air and sea, the country received 719,849 visitors in October alone," Minister Collado pointed out.
