The workshops will be held during the Central Bank's Economic and Financial Week in Santo Domingo and Santiago.
Continuing with its strategy of supporting and promoting financial education, the Cibao Savings and Loan Association announced its participation in the Economic and Financial Week of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, where it will conduct a series of youth and children's workshops from March 18 to 22, 2024.
Yara Hernández, Communications and Sustainability Manager, reported that these workshops will be based on their Financial Education Booklets for Children and Youth, aimed at children and young people between the ages of 9 and 18, as a way to guide them in the necessary aspects to make good use of money from an early age.
"This material was made available to the public last year during the development of this fair and we continue with the promotion of this educational tool that allows children and adolescents to learn in a practical way about topics such as: saving, investment, income, consumption, economic violence, budgeting, entrepreneurship, money management, among others," he explained.
The first meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 18, with finance specialist Diego Sosa, who will conduct the workshop "Savings and responsible consumption" for young people at the Juan Pablo Duarte Library (former headquarters of the Central Bank), in Santo Domingo, and on Thursday, March 21, at the Central Bank Terrace in its Santiago Regional Office.
On Wednesday, March 20, Evelin Cáceres, author of children's stories and playful facilitator in finance for children, will be sharing a children's savings workshop with the little ones at the Multipurpose Center of the Central Bank, Santiago Regional Office; and, on March 22, at the Economic Theater of the Central Bank in Santo Domingo, with the help of the children's characters Alex, Emma, Hugo and Monedita.
On this occasion, the Cibao Association will provide participants with a physical copy of its Financial Education Booklets for Children and Youth, authored by the renowned psychologist and economist Joaquín Disla.
Similarly, he indicated that this tool is available for free download through the institution's website: www.acap.com.do.
For the general public interested in enhancing their financial skills and efficient management of their economic resources, financial education specialists Kimberly García and Laura Camacho from EconomicsData will share the conference "Protect Your Money, Secure Your Future" in an ACAP Live event on Monday, March 18th at 7:30 pm, via the financial institution's Instagram account.
For the past decade, the Cibao Association has played an active role in the Central Bank's Economic and Financial Week.
