The 35th edition of the Asonahores 2023 Trade Fair saw a 40% increase in new participants offering their services, and the event was attended by more than six thousand visitors; in addition to the signing of important agreements to continue boosting the hotel sector in the country.
David Llibre and Andrés Marranzini, president and executive vice president of the Santo Domingo Hotel and Tourism Association (Asonahores), respectively, when offering the closing figures, said that this year a great effort was made with the selection of the participants, since they focused on offering quality.
Asonahores executives described this year's fair as "a resounding success.".
Marranzini said that everyone who participated with their services for the hotel sector at this fair had to be a valuable player.
He explained that the remaining 60% of participation were traditional and detailed that this year there were 175 companies occupying 342 booths and 61 sponsors in more than 4,000 square meters, with the Blue Mall Punta Cana shopping center as the setting.
The executive highlighted that they signed several important agreements: one with the Barcelona School of Advanced Management and the other with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
“Two trade missions also participated: the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter (Procomer) and the United States Department of Agriculture, through its embassy in the country,” he added.
For his part, Llibre emphasized that this exhibition demonstrates that the tourism sector is and will continue to be the main economic engine of the Dominican Republic.
