SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Association of Surveyors (Asodagrim) considered the recent announcement by the State Sugar Council (CEA) regarding the reactivation of the process for issuing certifications of No Objection to Demarcation and Transfer as a positive step forward.
The measure comes days after Asodagrim publicly denounced the paralysis of more than 400 applications at the CEA and National Assets, noting that excessive bureaucracy was affecting real estate development and the professional practice of surveyors, according to a press release.
“The CEA announcement is a step in the right direction, but we will be watching its implementation closely to ensure that processes are truly streamlined and the obstacles that have affected our profession, surveyors, and the country for years are eliminated,” said Víctor Torres, president.
According to the CEA statement, the new provision will allow certifications to be issued within 30 business days, which would help reduce the institution's backlog. Asodagrim, however, emphasizes in the press release the importance of these promises translating into real and effective solutions.

The president of the land surveyors' association indicated that he is making available the digitization proposal they have designed to automate and streamline processes within the state entity, enabling them to offer appropriate and adapted solutions for the current times. "We hope the authorities will consider this initiative, which will further expedite processes and guarantee efficient service for land surveyors and land buyers throughout the country."
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to defending surveyors and improving administrative processes that impact the sector's development. "We will continue working to ensure that professional practice in the country is agile, transparent, and efficient," Torres stated.
