SANTO DOMINGO. -The Real Estate Registry received 412,925 applications through its various channels (in person and digital) last year, representing a 99.22% resolution rate for the applications submitted and an increase of 19.1% compared to 2019, according to data reported by the entity.
Engineer Jhonattan Toribio Frías, general administrator of the Real Estate Registry, highlighted that 2021 was a year of great achievements and progress for the institution and added that the Dominican Republic is positioning itself as a leader in cadastral and registry matters in the region, thanks to the innovations and improvements implemented in the services offered to users, based on an easily accessible, transparent and modern structure, factors that favor the legal security of the country.
During the celebration of Judiciary Day, the government executive highlighted that through the user service, 538,134 people were served in person at the 24 offices nationwide, and 109,569 through the telephone lines of the service center, according to a document posted on the institutional website.

Torbio Frias presented as achievements the professionalization of the staff, the launch of new services to facilitate due diligence in real estate procedures, the simplification of requirements, the strengthening and improvement of the quality of services, response time and streamlining of processes.
In addition, he said, a new virtual office was made available to users for Title Registration procedures, the enabling of electronic payment for registration operations through the virtual office and the payment of legal status certifications through the RIMóvil application.
Likewise, the issuance of new requirements guidelines that seek standardization, simplification of processes and expansion of the national remote deposit for Cadastral Survey procedures.
Interinstitutional collaboration
The Real Estate Registry signed agreements with the Ministry of the Presidency to support the National Plan for Titling State Lands in its initiatives to expand access to titled real estate property; with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, in order to provide titles to the country's protected areas; and a third agreement with the National Superintendency of Public Registries (Sunarp) of Peru, with the purpose of promoting and implementing technical, academic and regulatory collaboration programs between both countries.
At the international level, the Dominican Republic was re-elected to the presidency of the Inter-American Network of Cadastre and Property Registration and, for the first time, assumed the General Secretariat of the Ibero-American Registry Network (IBEROREG)
