The Santiago City Hall led an important meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Tourism ( Mitur ) and Politur, and the owners of bars and restaurants in the city's historic center.
During the meeting, Sahely García and Jose Díaz, director and deputy director of Tourism for the Mayor's Office, stated that the mayor-elect, Ulises Rodríguez, " is very committed" to the development of tourism in Santiago, and that actions are being taken to boost this sector.
The meeting, coordinated by the Tourism Department of the Santiago City Hall, addressed security issues and process monitoring to transform Santiago into a true tourist destination.
Representatives of bars and restaurants were very pleased with the quick response to their request for the Mayor's Office to coordinate this meeting with representatives of the tourism authorities.
