RE/MAX RD alerts the public about the misuse of its brand by unauthorized individuals

SANTO DOMINGO - RE/MAX Dominican Republic warned yesterday about unauthorized individuals who are using the franchise's brand, a pioneer in real estate in the country, even going so far as to request payments to show properties.

“We are issuing a critical warning to the community and the general public regarding an alarming situation that has recently come to our attention. It has been identified that unauthorized individuals are illegitimately using the RE/MAX name and brand to display properties and falsely pose as real estate agents associated with the renowned network, even going so far as to solicit payments to show properties—a practice that is neither correct nor used by our real estate agents,” states a company press release sent to El Inmobiliario.

The document emphasizes that this “fraudulent activity violates the principles of integrity and professionalism that the RE/MAX brand has established and promoted throughout its history.”.

It emphasizes that the company is committed to protecting its reputation and the safety of its customers, and has informed its network of agents, as well as the general public, about these criminal actions to prevent any harm or confusion.

“RE/MAX urges its members and the public to always be alert to any signs of suspicious activity. The company emphasizes that all its real estate agents and franchisees are properly identified on its website www.remaxrd.com, providing its clients and associates with the opportunity to verify their membership in the RE/MAX network,” the statement reads.

The real estate firm requested that any suspicious activity or irregularities be reported immediately to the appropriate authorities and to RE/MAX through its official communication channels, so that appropriate action can be taken. “Cooperation and effective communication are key to maintaining the high standard of security and trust that RE/MAX offers its clients,” the firm stated.

The franchise, which has 37 offices throughout the country and around 600 real estate agents, thanked all its members and the public for their attention to the case and reiterated its commitment to excellence in service and the protection of its corporate values.
