SANTO DOMINGO – The RD Vial Trust announced on Tuesday, November 2nd, the permanent elimination of manual entry of the Rapid Pass TAG in the country's toll system. The measure aims to expedite traffic, enhance security, and provide greater confidence to users
.
The general manager of RD Vial, Hostos Rizik Lugo, reported that drivers will no longer have to share their TAG number, due to the installation of new backup RFID readers.
He reported that these devices allow the passage of vehicles to be validated even if the TAG has failures at the time of reading in the exclusive lanes.
According to Lugo, the modernization of the toll system will prevent fraud, improve traffic flow, and ensure that each transaction is directly controlled by the account holder. “We continue modernizing the country's road network,” he stated on his X account.
The implementation of this technology represents an important step in the digital transformation of the Dominican road network, strengthening citizens' confidence in the use of the Paso Rápido system.
RD Vial urged all users to update the Paso Rápido application to its latest version and ensure that their email address is correctly registered and accessible, in order to guarantee a more efficient and safe service.
This new system aims to improve citizen confidence in the use of tolls and ensure that each transaction is directly controlled by the account holder
