SANTO DOMINGO. – Located on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, corner of Andrés Julio Aybar, the new Latitud 18 project of the Santo Domingo Marriott Piantini & Aloft Santo Domingo Piantini hotels is now a reality.
During a meeting attended by President Luis Abinader Corona, the project was inaugurated this Wednesday alongside important national and international personalities from the tourism and business sectors, and the main executives of Marriott International, a renowned hotel chain with more than 30 extraordinary brands.
The new hotels, located in the exclusive Piantini sector of the city of Santo Domingo, reinforce the commitment to strategic expansion in high-growth markets, which continue to be booming for local and international tourism.
Roberto Chapur, CEO of RCD Hotels, highlighted that they are excited to celebrate the expansion and opening of these hotel brands, as well as the gastronomic center, in one of the most cosmopolitan destinations in the Caribbean.

The Mexican hotelier emphasized that Latitud 18 is characterized by its high level of hospitality and gastronomy, showcased in its restaurants, including Cueva Siete, featuring contemporary Mexican cuisine, and Makoto, an internationally recognized brand of modern Japanese food. This is all in a country known for its fascinating culture, where the ancient and the modern have seamlessly blended together.
Chapur reported that Latitud 18 will generate more than 300 new jobs. He also highlighted that the project features 400 rooms and 5 restaurants, offering a wide range of options for visitors.
He also asserted that this investment will strengthen business tourism in the country, given that the Dominican Republic is a destination renowned for its geographic and cultural diversity. Therefore, Santo Domingo stands out as a vibrant city and as the first European settlement in the Americas.
Highlighting the advantages of Aloft, Yudith García, representative of Marriott International in the Dominican Republic, indicated that it offers vibrant and eclectic spaces for music lovers and creators, being a brand known for its emphasis on innovative music programming through its Live at Aloft platform.
García also presented the Santo Domingo Marriott Piantini hotel; a hotel that represents the flagship brand of Marriott International's portfolio, synonymous with the art of hospitality worldwide, which arrives on the island to innovate at every opportunity while maintaining the comfort of familiarity around the world.
Yudith García concluded her participation by mentioning that both brands combine a distinctive service with a comfortable design, allowing them to meet the needs of each guest.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader; the Minister of Tourism, David Collado; and the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor Bisonó, who accompanied the Chapur family on a tour of the hotels, led by the general manager Eduardo Perezmoreno and the commercial director Raúl Melgen.
