SANTO DOMINGO. – Qik Banco Digital Dominicano, SA – Multiple Bank, a subsidiary of Grupo Popular and the first neobank in the Dominican Republic, closed the year 2024 with more than 600,000 clients, consolidating itself as one of the fastest growing financial entities in the country.
During this period, Qik positioned itself as the third largest issuer of credit cards in the Dominican market, with more than 99,000 approved cards, and exceeded RD$11 billion in billing.
According to its 2024 Annual Management Report, Qik's mobile app ranked second among the most downloaded apps in the iOS App Store. To date, the company has released 45 updates to its app, reaffirming its commitment to continuously improving the user experience.
A constantly expanding product portfolio
Since its launch in November 2022, Qik has introduced 28 new features and innovative financial products, such as the Qik debit card, the only card in the country that can be purchased at partner stores nationwide; the credit card with instant digital issuance, which allows users to access credit immediately without waiting for the physical version; and the network of banking sub-agents, which reached 700 points, where it is possible to make cash deposits throughout the country.
Similarly, Qik user transfers via phone number simplify sending money and digital certificates of deposit, allowing investment from the app without needing to visit a branch; Apple Pay activation, making them pioneers in enabling this service in the country.
Commitment to financial inclusion
Since its inception, Qik has actively worked to promote financial inclusion in the Dominican Republic. In 2024, its Crea Crédito program continued to generate a positive impact, enabling more than 2,500 Dominicans to graduate from the program and access their first credit opportunity. Currently, 20% of the credit cards issued by the company have been granted through this initiative.
As a result of these efforts, in 2024 Qik received eight national and international awards recognizing its innovative products, effective communication, and contribution to promoting financial inclusion. These awards included those from Global Finance, the Effie Awards, Fintech Americas, and Temenos.
