SANTO DOMINGO.– Using the false name and seal of the General Directorate of Buildings, unscrupulous individuals are carrying out illegal notifications in the name of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, the state agency reported today, Friday.
A press release from the MOPC's Communications Department states that unknown individuals are using letterhead bearing the department's old letterhead to issue illegal notifications in the name of the MOPC's General Directorate of Buildings, using a seal from the Ministry's "Works Inspection and Supervision Section."
The institution warns citizens not to be scammed by unscrupulous individuals and to immediately notify the authorities.
The MOPC also informs that, since December 2021, both the Directorate of Plan Processing and its Department of Private Inspections operate under the authority of the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED), therefore, there should not be any notifications or seals with the name and logo of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) legally after this date.
