SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that the completion of the bridge over the Lebrón stream will be ready in about 60 days.
The Deputy Minister of Supervision and Inspection of Works of the agency, Roberto Herrera, assured that the construction work of the bridge over the Lebrón River in Pedro Brand will be delivered within two months.
“We came to have a dialogue with the municipal authorities and neighborhood associations of this district, which is the intention of President Luis Abinader and Minister Deligne Ascención, that we socialize the work with the community and explain to them what we are doing,” he said while participating in a working group with municipal authorities and neighborhood associations.

He explained that in the case of the municipality of Pedro Brand there are several important works being carried out by the government through the MOPC, including the construction of the bridge over the Lebrón River, and that the community is demanding its completion.
“Today we arrived here with the contractor for the project and explained to the community what has happened with this process, and thank God in about 60 days this project will be ready,” he assured.
Herrera noted that the tollbooth located in the community of Pedro Brand is being moved from that community to kilometer 32, which has been one of the major requests of that municipality.
The mayor of Pedro Brand, Ramón Pascual Gómez, thanked the community for the solutions.
He recalled that the delay in the construction of the bridge was due to the fact that about four houses were obstructing the passage, but that this problem has now been resolved.
Luis Santana, president of the Las Colinas neighborhood association, said that the Public Works authorities want the community of Pedro Brand to go from walking through mud to having paved streets. “I think it was a very well-received meeting by all the community leaders and we will follow up, since we want to work with the authorities.”.
The neighborhood associations that participated in the discussion are Las Colinas, Luz María Capellán, Mejoramiento I, Flor de Liz, El Esfuerzo, Alto de Pedro Brand, Eduardo Brito II, María de Jesús Gill (Doña China), among others.
