SANTO DOMINGO. -The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) began construction this Tuesday of a motorized pedestrian bridge over the 6 de Noviembre highway, in the community of Quita Sueño, with the purpose of strengthening road safety and offering mobility solutions to the inhabitants of the area.
A press release from the institution states that the new infrastructure, designed for pedestrians and motorcycles, guarantees a safe crossing on this important stretch of road, considerably reduces the risk of accidents, and facilitates the transit of hundreds of people who travel daily between both sides of the road.
This project is part of the national road safety plan promoted by the Government, reaffirming its commitment to promoting the development of communities and improving the quality of life of the population through works that save lives and strengthen connectivity.
The Ministry of Public Works and Communications reiterates that it continues to work with a social, modern and human vision, prioritizing citizen security and the well-being of all Dominicans on the main roads of the country.
