SANTO DOMINGO. -The Ministry of Public Works reported that today, Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Floating Bridge will be closed to traffic.
The Director of Bridge Maintenance at the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), Romer Francisco Pérez Vargas, explained that the reason for the closure is to allow passage for the vessel R/M Svitzer Melena.
The Floating Bridge, over the Ozama River, connects the National District with the community of Villa Duarte, municipality of Santo Domingo East.
