Program aimed at streamlining traffic enters third phase with a ban on left turns at five intersections

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Transportation Cabinet announced the implementation of the third phase of left turn restrictions "RD Se Mueve" traffic management plan

The measure aims to optimize traffic flow , reduce travel times , and strengthen road safety in high-traffic areas.

The previous phases Lope de Vega and Tiradentes avenues , have been continuously monitored , and have recorded a reduction of more than 30% in travel times during the current school holiday period.

These results support the effectiveness of the interventions implemented and motivate the expansion of the measures to new critical points.

Phase III includes interventions at five new intersections:

Abraham Lincoln Avenue and Victor Garrido Puello

Abraham Lincoln Avenue and Andrés Julio Aybar

Av. Máximo Gómez with Avenida Pedro Livio Cedeño

Winston Churchill Avenue José Amado Soler Street

Winston Churchill Avenue Roberto Pastoriza Avenue

To ensure smooth traffic flow, specific alternate routes for each intersection:

At the intersection of Av. Abraham Lincoln–Víctor Garrido Puello, where northeast turns will be restricted, drivers must continue south, turn right onto Av. Roberto Pastoriza, take Federico Geraldino Street and finally access Víctor Garrido Puello Street.

In the case of the intersection Av. Abraham Lincoln–Andrés Julio Aybar, also with a northeast-bound restriction, it is recommended to continue south, make a U-turn on Rafael Augusto Sánchez street and then turn right on Andrés Julio Aybar street.

At the intersection of Av. Máximo Gómez and Pedro Livio Cedeño, where the northeast turn will be eliminated, the suggested route is to continue south, turn right onto Alexander Fleming Street, then onto Ramón Cáceres Street, and finally return to Av. Pedro Livio Cedeño.

For the intersection of Winston Churchill Avenue and José Amado Soler Street, with a southwest turn restriction, drivers must continue north, turn right onto Francisco Carías Lavandier Street, then onto Manuel de Jesús Troncoso Street, and finally onto José Amado Soler Street.

Finally, at the intersection of Av. Winston Churchill–Roberto Pastoriza, also with a southwest turn restriction, you must turn right onto Víctor Garrido Puello street, then onto Manuel de Jesús Troncoso street and end up on Av. Roberto Pastoriza.

With this new phase, the Transportation Cabinet reaffirms its commitment to implementing sustainable actions aimed at improving urban mobility and providing a safer, more orderly, and efficient road environment for all citizens of Greater Santo Domingo.
