Novasco Real Estate Case: Public Prosecutor requests 18 months of pretrial detention for 4 new individuals implicated in the case

SANTO DOMINGO. -The Public Prosecutor's Office requested the imposition of 18 months of preventive detention , as a coercive measure, against four people arrested last Thursday for electronic fraud and money laundering during several raids carried out in the continuation of Operation Guepardo.

The measure was requested against Loana Paola Guerrero Milián, who served as accountant for Novasco Real Estate , SRL, and Javier Gustavo Ulloa Bueno, the company's lawyer, who used terror to confront the victims who demanded the return of their money, as well as the master brokers of the simulated projects Astrid Inmaculada Rydelis Bello and Samayra del Rosario Barreto.

In the motion filed with the Permanent Attention Services Judicial Office of La Romana, the Public Prosecutor's Office requests the imposition of pretrial detention and that the case be declared complex. The court is now expected to set a date for the hearing on the coercive measure.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing and the La Romana Prosecutor's Office in the actions against the network have the support of the Department of Investigation of Money Laundering and Terrorism (Dilatf), of the National Police.

As part of the actions yesterday, raids were carried out in the National District, San Cristóbal and Punta Cana, in the province of La Altagracia, against the members of the criminal network dedicated to electronic fraud and money laundering, who in association with evildoers affected hundreds of victims, receiving a benefit of more than 18 million dollars, with the false promise of building apartments at low cost.

During the operation, the four defendants were arrested. Loana Paola Guerrero Milián in Punta Cana and Javier Gustavo Ulloa Bueno in San Cristóbal, while Astrid Inmaculada Rydelis Bello was arrested in the National District and Samayra del Rosario Barreto in La Romana.

In addition, luxury vehicles, cash, properties, high-end vehicles and electronic devices were seized, as well as corporate documentation related to the crime under investigation and high-value items.

These new actions against organized crime networks are being carried out as part of the institutional plan launched by the Attorney General of the Republic, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, and the work carried out by the General Directorate of Prosecution of the Public Ministry, headed by Deputy Attorney General Wilson Camacho.

The authorities reaffirmed their commitment to working on behalf of the victims identified in Operation Cheetah and their dedication as the prosecuting body to bring all those involved in this criminal structure to justice and to work to recover the assets.

The investigation is being led by prosecutors Mayerling Rondón and Claudio Cordero, from the La Romana Prosecutor's Office and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, respectively.
