National and international airlines will meet in the country starting today

SANTO DOMINGO - CONNECT New World is the meeting that will take place from today until Thursday, June 1st in the country, with the participation of airlines, airports and tourism authorities, with the purpose of discussing the air transport strategy in the region.

AERODOM announced that more than 200 international guests have confirmed their participation in the event, a prominent forum where aviation decision-makers will take part in a series of seminars with high-level speakers, one-on-one meetings and an evening program of events, according to a press release.

He explains that the Dominican Republic was selected to host this international event in recognition of the extraordinary recovery of air traffic post-pandemic and the outstanding performance of the tourism industry that the country exhibits globally.

With over 15 years in the making, CONNECT is a leading event in Europe and other markets, explains the press release. The event will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel.

AERODOM explains that the event will be attended by top executives from COPA Airlines, LATAM Airlines, Spirit, Westjet, Turkish Airlines, Sunrise Airways, Arajet, Sky High, Sky Cana, Viva Aerobus, ETF Airways, Fly One Sky, Blue Sky Airlines, Eurowings Discover, and

Executives from major airports in Brazil, Colombia, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, Canada, the United States, and several Caribbean islands will also be present. In addition, representatives from all airports in the country and major service companies will be in attendance,” said Mónika Infante Henríquez, CEO of AERODOM.

CONNECT is a route development event established by The Airport Agency. The forum offers its participants unlimited face-to-face meetings and a diverse conference program, as well as social events including evening functions, morning activities, and excursions.

“We are confident that CONNECT will allow the country to establish new routes, as well as strengthen existing ones, which will support passenger traffic growth. At AERODOM, we are working to increase the number of boarding gates at AILA-JFPG, with the vision of transforming our airport into a new regional hub that provides new opportunities for launching more routes to multiple destinations,” Infante added.

The Ministry of Tourism, AERODOM, and VINCI Airports are the main sponsors of CONNECT. Additionally, to welcome delegates, the event features three official tour operators offering discounted fares: Arajet, Air Europa, and Sky High Dominicana.
