SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) announced that today, March 30, 2023, is the date for the delivery of documents for construction professionals interested in being part of the first generation of Private Technical Supervisors in the Dominican Republic.
“Notice to engineers, architects and the construction sector: tomorrow (today) is the day to submit your Private Technical Supervisor files to our offices,” the government entity posted on its Instagram social network.
The MIVHED maintains that the assigned delivery schedule is from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon, in person, at the headquarters of the agency located at Avenida Pedro Henríquez Ureña #128, corner of Alma Mater, La Esperilla sector, National District.
The process
In February of this year, the Ministry of Housing announced the opening of the first call for the qualification, accreditation and registration of the first Private Technical Supervisors in the Dominican Republic.
“This first call is based on the provisions of Law 160-21, promulgated by the Executive Branch on August 1, 2021, which attributes to the MIVHED “the authority to grant the corresponding qualifications and authorizations to urban managers, private technical supervisors, structural evaluators, laboratories suitable for testing, evaluators of geotechnical studies and master builders, in accordance with the procedures and requirements established by regulation.”
The state agency stated that in this phase, 50 professionals will be selected to receive, review, and inspect the execution of the different stages of building construction.
Calendar
On April 6th of this year, any errors and omissions that can be corrected will be reported, and the deadline for submitting them will be April 18th; the prequalified applicants will be published on Friday, April 21st.
The schedule indicates that the written evaluation for pre-qualified candidates will take place on April 26th, with a score of 85 points, while the interview will be held on May 3rd. The publication and notification of those who qualify is scheduled for Monday, May 22nd.
“Those interested who are prequalified will undergo an interview and verbal or written evaluation on the date established in the schedule. The test will be based on aspects specific to the inspection of works and extensive knowledge of current regulations, especially regarding the Regulation for the Supervision and General Inspection of Works. (R-004, Decree 232-17, repeals Decree No. 670-10),” explained the MIVHED.
Monthly inspections
Selected Private Technical Supervisors will be assigned a maximum of 84 supervisions per month. Individuals may be assisted by an accredited support team to supervise multiple projects simultaneously, according to an amendment published by the Ministry.
