SANTO DOMINGO - The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed) opened this Tuesday, September 3, the third call for the qualification, accreditation and registration of an Urban Manager for jurisdiction two, who will be in charge of receiving, reviewing and managing the processing of plans and applications for the issuance of construction licenses in the zones or areas that this agency has determined as its jurisdiction and according to the procedures established in the law.
In a document posted on its website, the government entity explains that it is aimed at civil engineers, architects or law graduates, duly registered in the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) and in the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD).
Law 160-21 defines Urban Manager as any natural person who, at the request of the applicant or interested party, is in charge of receiving, reviewing and managing the processing of plans and applications for the issuance of building licenses, in the zones or areas that the Mivhed has determined as its jurisdiction and who is accredited and enabled for such purposes.
“The number of urban managers per jurisdiction is determined based on the licensing dynamics of the regions or groups of regions, and in no case can fewer than 2 managers be appointed in each jurisdiction,” highlights a document from the Mivhed.
The Urban Managers authorized in the country work in the Southeast, Cibao and South regions which include Yuma, Higuamo, Ozama, North Cibao, Northwest Cibao, South Cibao, Valdesia, Enriquillo and El Valle.
“Participants/applicants must comply with the requirements and instructions established in this document, which will be verified by the experts assigned for these purposes, by the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED), which has the power to carry out the suitability checks it deems necessary to verify the authenticity and/or veracity of the documentation provided by the participants/applicants,” the agency emphasizes.
Assessment
The interdisciplinary committee that evaluates the applicants is made up of a professional with expertise in architecture and urban planning, one in structural calculation and design, an expert in electrical installations, a specialist in hydraulic and sanitary installations, and another in soil mechanics and geotechnical studies.
Calendar
According to the schedule published by the Mivhed, the deadline for submitting expressions of interest will be Monday, September 9, 2024, while the deadline for making inquiries by interested parties will be until Friday, September 13.
The deadline for submitting responses to inquiries is the 17th of this month, while the deadline for submitting documents is Tuesday, September 24th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Mivhed facilities.
The deadline for notifying errors or omissions to be corrected was set for Thursday, September 26, and for submitting corrected documents, Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Similarly, the Mivhed calendar establishes that the publication of prequalified participants will be on Tuesday, October 15, the training of these on October 17 in virtual mode; the written evaluation of prequalified participants on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
The interview of prequalified candidates will take place on Thursday, October 24th, the publication and notification of qualified candidates will be on Tuesday the 29th of next month, while the swearing-in ceremony and the accreditation and signing of SLA are pending scheduling.
