SANTO DOMINGO. -The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) announced yesterday, Wednesday, August 20, new adjustments to the fees for services related to the processing of plans and inspection of private buildings.
In a statement, the agency explained that the measure is being taken with the aim of protecting the lives and property of the population , through broader, more timely and rigorous supervision at all stages of the construction process.
“Adjusting the rates will allow us to increase the number of inspections, expand the qualified technical staff, and incorporate tools and technology that will improve the quality and efficiency of on-site verifications,” the statement said.
He added: “Builders should see this rate update as an investment in safety, urban quality, and service sustainability,” emphasized Minister Carlos Bonilla, who stressed that “with more and better inspections, we prevent construction errors, curb illegal or risky interventions, and act in time to demand corrections before problems endanger citizens.”.
He explains that the measure is framed within Law 160-21 and Regulation R-004 of Supervision and Inspection of Works, and is part of a continuous improvement process to offer more efficient services, with greater coverage and quality from the Vice Ministry of Standards, Procedures and Regulations of that ministry.
