SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Association of Portland Cement Producers, as part of the institutional agreement for Housing Support Services with Habitat for Humanity in the country, conducted a workshop for approximately 30 master builders, with the aim of reinforcing basic building knowledge and contributing to laying the foundations for safer and more resilient constructions in the Dominican Republic.
The training day was supported by CAF America, and covered topics related to concrete pathology and quality control in industrial use, construction regulations in the Dominican Republic, common errors in construction practices and best practices, among others
“With this training, we aim to continue contributing to the growth, updating, and development of those involved in the construction sector. Sharing relevant information is part of our philosophy and the engine of development, as it creates space for exchange and personal and professional growth,” explained Julissa Báez, executive director of ADOCEM
Cesarina Fabián, national director of Habitat Dominicana, highlighted that “the organization advocates for resilient constructions to strengthen knowledge in this important sector that serves the families and communities we serve in order to have a safer society.”
The workshop lasted eight hours and was led by engineers José Toirac and Gregorio Valdéz. The workshop content included the use of audiovisual materials and training manuals designed and produced within the framework of the agreement with Habitat.
