SANTO DOMINGO. - The Minister of Finance and Economy, Magín Díaz , held a meeting yesterday, Thursday, with a group of prominent national business leaders , with the aim of promoting dialogue on fiscal and financial issues of the State.
The meeting, held in the Matías Ramón Mella Hall of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, is part of a series of outreach efforts that the head of the institution has been developing with all productive sectors of the country, within an agenda focused on open dialogue and the consolidation of public policies aimed at economic growth .
During the meeting, Minister Díaz listened to the perspectives and proposals of the business leaders on key issues for strengthening the economy, reaffirming his commitment to maintaining a close, transparent and consensus-oriented management style.
“We are committed to maintaining an open and constructive dialogue with the business sector, because only by working together can we continue to strengthen trust, economic stability and the sustainable development of the country,” the minister stated.
This space for dialogue reflects the importance of public-private collaboration to continue promoting macroeconomic stability, the country's competitiveness, and the well-being of all Dominicans.
They value transparency
Business leaders praised the openness and transparency shown by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Magín Díaz, and expressed their willingness to collaborate with the authorities in identifying measures that contribute to strengthening public finances and promoting the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic.
They agreed to highlight that these spaces for dialogue developed by the official strengthen trust between the public and private sectors and allow for building bridges to jointly address the country's economic challenges.
Among those in attendance were Ligia Bonetti , CEO of Grupo SID; Samir Rizek , president of GME and of the Shareholders' Meeting of Alpha Inversiones; Manuel Corripio , president of Grupo Corripio, and Manuel Estrella , president of Grupo Estrella.
Also present were Luis Molina Achécar , Chairman of the Board of Banco BHD; José Miguel González Cuadra , CEO of CCN; Francesca Rainieri , President of AMCHAMDR and Executive of Grupo Puntacana; Paola Rainieri , Vice President of Marketing, Public Relations and Communications of Grupo Puntacana; Félix García , President of Grupo Linda; and René Grullón , CEO of Grupo Popular.
Other encounters
This same week, the minister met with executives from the National Organization of Commercial Enterprises (ONEC) and the Dominican Federation of Merchants , as part of the Government's commitment to open management, permanent dialogue and strengthening the country's productive apparatus.
With the same purpose, the Minister of Finance and Economy (MHE), Magín Díaz, and the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), Víctor “Ito” Bisonó, held a meeting with representatives of the MSME sector at the national level.
