Magin Díaz continues business dialogues; this time it was Conep's turn

SANTO DOMINGO – Minister of Finance and Economy Magín Díaz held a meeting this Wednesday with the Board of Directors of the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP) , aimed at strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the public and private sectors to guarantee the stability and economic growth .

During the meeting, topics related to public finances and the performance of the national economy were addressed, in an environment that seeks to identify points of convergence and concrete proposals to promote investment , competitiveness and sustainable development .

“Sound public finances and economic development require collaborative efforts. Listening to and working hand in hand with the business sector is key to building solutions that benefit all of society,” Díaz stated.

The minister stressed that the Government maintains an open channel of dialogue with all productive sectors , convinced that collaboration and transparency are essential to achieving development goals.

Meanwhile, Celso J. Marranzini , president of CONEP, highlighted the private sector's commitment to the country's development. "Our goal is to promote investment, generate quality formal employment, and increase the Dominican Republic's competitiveness, always for the benefit of all Dominicans," he stated.

The president of the business association emphasized that, to achieve this, it is essential to have policies that generate confidence and foster a favorable business climate . In this regard, the directors of CONEP appreciated Minister Díaz's openness to listening to the concerns of the private sector , which reiterated its willingness to work jointly with the authorities.

Meeting agenda

This meeting is part of a broad agenda of outreach to various trade associations and business organizations that the minister has been holding.

In recent days, the official has met with national business , the National Organization of Commercial Enterprises (ONEC) , and the Dominican Federation of Merchants , as well as with representatives of the MSME sector, along with the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Víctor “Ito” Bisonó.

With these actions, the Ministry of Finance and Economy reaffirms its commitment to participatory management , oriented towards consensus and based on permanent dialogue with key actors in the economy.
