Loyalty and respect are worth more than two or three bucks. That's the opinion of a promising young talent in the industry

SANTO DOMINGO – Adrian Camilo Méndez Méndez, a young real estate agent with a strong sense of social responsibility, describes himself as a hard worker, respectful, and observant. He moved from his native San Juan to Santo Domingo when he was just two years old. Six years ago, he entered the real estate industry, which has become his great passion, and today he shares his experiences with the readers of El Inmobiliario .

Profession ?

"Fajador". Marketing Technician and currently a final-year student in Computer Science.

How many years have you been involved in the real estate sector?

Six years

Do you work in any specific area within the sector?

No, but I would like to focus on selling off-plan homes.

Do you own your own real estate agency?

Silver Real Estate

How many people work with you?

Our team consists of 8 people.

In which sectors do you work?.

I don't have a specific one; I take advantage of wherever I am. The more leads I get, the more deals I close.

¿Do you sell nationwide?*

Yes, but I always seek support from my "trusted" colleagues for sales outside of Santo Domingo, and if the negotiation warrants my relocation, I include them as well.

What do you think of the practice of real estate agents in the country?

Many people are well-trained, provide excellent customer service, and are professionally ethical, respectful, responsible, and trustworthy. However, it's not all perfect; occasionally, a few "money-grubbers" appear who are only interested in money and disrespectful.

Do you think a good job is being done?

Yes, because every day we see more people interested in investing in the sector and joining it as agents.

Do you work with exclusive clients?

Although the responsibility is greater, yes.

Do you think there are trained agents in the country?

Of course, and we continue preparing

What do you do in your free time?

I don't have much, but I like to explore places and stuff.

How many hours do you work per day?

It's a full-time job; I'd be lying if I gave a number.

¿Do you have a family: children, wife?.

No

Are you from the capital?

Sanjuanero.

As a human being and an agent, what concerns do you have?

As a human being, there are so many reasons, but I'm concerned about the high cost of living in all areas (healthcare, food, education), and not being able to help more. As an agent, I worry about making a bad deal by not paying attention to the details or being too trusting, so I try to be as transparent and careful as possible.

Do you think there is unity in the sector?

No, there are too many vested interests involved.

Do you understand that you are truly advising your clients or simply selling to them?

You know we have two types of clients:

The one who sells/rents

The one who buys/invests.

When a property is listed under my "sell/rent" policy, I'll always tell you the truth, even if it affects me. However, when a client contacts me through any channel, I become a detective, psychologist, friend, and advisor.

Do you have a large inventory of properties?

It's never huge, but our inventory is good.

How much do you sell in a month or a year?

Something is achieved.

Do you also rent?

Yes, rentals are the sector's petty cash.

What is your target audience that you are negotiating with?

Foreigners

What's the key to your sales strategy?

-Good acquisitions

-Good photos

-Good opportunities

For Advice:

-Investigate the client. (detective)

-Listen to the client (psychologist)

-Tell them the truth, or as a friend and colleague says, "bring them down to earth" (friend)

-Find the best options for him (to advise).

Any advice for the officers?

Loyalty and respect are worth more than a few bucks. Always work transparently; in this business, everyone knows each other, and it's good to hold your head high.

This is how Adrián Méndez sells. (External source).
