SANTO DOMINGO.- Juan Carlos Rodríguez, a trainer and speaker on leadership and business topics, said yesterday that to achieve success in real estate businesses it is necessary to go through various stages and not try to achieve it quickly because "the process always prevails."
“A meal cooked in a microwave will never be the same as one made by your mother. There are no shortcuts, the shortest path is the one that takes the easy way out,” the expert stated during his presentation, “The Challenge of Achieving Comprehensive Success,” at the RE/UNIDOS convention of RE/MAX Dominican Republic.
He argued that the path to comprehensive success is slower, but stronger and more cohesive.
He emphasized the importance of seeking balance in life to ensure overall success, reiterating that things don't happen overnight.
He defined integral success as the ability to achieve results in different areas of life, such as health, professional and emotional development, and in achieving dreams, where the human being can be satisfied with the life he leads.
Rodríguez referred to the wheel of life, which he summarized as: personal development, physical activity, health, leisure/free time, making money, contribution to society, partner/love, family, friendship, and spiritual development.
Regarding spiritual development, he said that it is not about living in the church, but about being at peace and not becoming anxious during negotiations.
He said that many people believe that they can fill their voids with money.
“Money can buy a house, but not a home; a watch, but not time; a companion, but not loyalty; a position, but not respect; a book, but not education; clothes, but not class; travel, but not sincere companionship to enjoy it,” the speaker emphasized. He said that money with speed and without direction is a catastrophe.
He elaborated on the 6 approaches to achieving comprehensive success:
-Burning desire: "To win in the business world, you have to be so hungry to win that you leave your comfort zone. Nobody can have desires for you; the quality of your execution will be determined by the scale of your dreams.".
-Positive attitude: "Learn to believe what is good for you." He called for having faith and certainty and going out into the street confident that one will obtain good business deals.
-Consistency: "And for that you need discipline, to do things every day. Consistency equals greatness; people don't fail, they give up. You have to make the effort every day.".
-Internal conversation: "The story you tell yourself every day. Sometimes no one discourages you, but your mind, which sometimes becomes your enemy.".
-Strategy, where you have techniques
-Patience: “You have to give yourself time, allow yourself to make mistakes. Patience is the science of knowing how to wait peacefully; it is a virtue of successful people. It is not about who arrives fastest, but who endures over time.”.
