SANTO DOMINGO – The Central Electoral Board ( JCE ) reminds that on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Resolution No. 09-2025 (modified by Resolution No. 14-2025) will come into effect, establishing a single format for civil status records and readjusting the fees for various services offered by the institution, applicable both nationally and abroad.
Among the main changes resulting from this resolution are the following: some payments are unified; processes are simplified and steps are reduced to facilitate procedures carried out by citizens.
The institution points out that it is important for citizens to know that extract and unenlarged forms that have the QR code, issued before July 1, 2025, will be valid.
The Central Electoral Board (JCE) announced that starting Tuesday, July 1, 2025, civil status certificates for birth, recognition, marriage, divorce, and death will be unified into a single format, eliminating the concepts of extract and inextensive in these identity documents offered by the Central Electoral Board.
As previously reported, the standardization of civil registry records into a single format entails a change in the fees for issuing the document and an adjustment to the cost of other services. For more information, please visit the JCE website or check the institution's social media channels.
The new fees, effective July 1st, for new birth, recognition, marriage, divorce, and death certificates will have a single cost of RD$600 in a single format.
