JAC participates in international meeting to strengthen civil aviation in the Dominican Republic

With the aim of studying, proposing and updating procedures for the growth of civil aviation in the Dominican Republic , and obtaining significant results on a global scale, Héctor Porcella, president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), participates in the meeting of the Group of Experts on Political, Economic and Legal Affairs of Air Transport directors of civil aviation and air transport authorities from the member states of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC) participate

"We are committed to ensuring a significant increase in air operations and to achieve this goal we are joining this important event in order to propose and raise substantial improvements for the sector to international bodies," the official declared at the event, held in the capital of Brazil , from November 12 to 14, 2024.

He added that he is currently working actively from the Civil Aviation Board to ensure that air transport in the Dominican Republic is accessible to the majority of Dominicans in a safe and sustainable , and above all, that it becomes an instrument of regional and economic integration.

He emphasized that the country maintains a high level of compliance with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and also reiterated the country's commitment to the constant development of civil aviation.

During the Management Group meeting, topics such as air transport, airport management, training, operational safety, the environment, aviation security, and gender equality in civil aviation were addressed. The meeting, which proposed substantial improvements for the aeronautical sector, also addressed the study notes submitted by the various members of the 22 Latin American countries that make up CLAC, facilitating the exchange of new proposals for the sector.

In addition to Hector Porcella, the Dominican delegation includes Bernarda Franco, secretary of the JAC Plenary, and Hector Christopher , director of Air Transport of the JAC.
