SANTO DOMINGO. – Grupo Martinón announced the opening of the first Hyatt brand hotel in Santo Domingo and the first Hyatt Centric in the Caribbean, located in the Piantini sector.
"The prime location of Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo provides a platform for modern travelers to connect with the best the city has to offer," said Luis Emilio Gómez García, general manager.
He explained that as the first Hyatt Centric property in the Dominican Republic, they hope to create memorable experiences for guests and offer a gateway to the culture, historical monuments, attractions and more of Piantini.
With 130 rooms and suites, the hotel's modern and contemporary design is inspired by the work of Dominican artist Thimo Pimentel. The use of natural materials and colorful wooden sculptures by local artist Patricio Correa celebrate the culture and joy of the region, according to a press release.
"Each room offers a sophisticated and modern design with multifunctional amenities. Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo also features a rooftop pool and a 24/7 fitness center," the press release explains.
Among its dining options is the Aon Food & Mood restaurant, located on the lobby level. The Lobby Bar is a space to relax and connect with others.
Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo also offers versatile spaces to host a wide range of events with over 12,000 square feet of flexible event spaces, with a maximum capacity of up to 200 people.
With panoramic views that bring the local cityscape indoors, the outstanding 11th-floor terrace offers a picturesque setting for outdoor weddings and receptions, providing the perfect backdrop to the Piantini district.
Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo is the first Hyatt Centric brand hotel in the Dominican Republic and the fifteenth Hyatt hotel in the destination, joining more than 50 other Hyatt Centric hotels worldwide.
