SANTO DOMINGO. – The recently opened Kimpton Las Mercedes Hotel presented its tourism offerings in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo.
This is the first Kimpton property in the Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio of the IHG Hotels & Resorts chain in the Dominican Republic. It is located within a historic 16th-century structure, renovated by architect Rafael Moneo and designer Pepe Deudero. Their transformation has given the establishment a new look, blending history with modernity to create a unique experience for its guests, according to a press release.
With 130 rooms and spacious suites, the hotel offers a glimpse into the vibrant indoor and outdoor life of Santo Domingo. The hotel collaborates with local artists and artisans to infuse each space with colorful design elements that reflect the spirit of the city.
In addition to its luxurious rooms, Kimpton Las Mercedes features curated dining concepts. Zola is a gourmet Italian restaurant, while El Patio offers an atmosphere where guests can enjoy snacks and drinks amidst oak trees and preserved mango trees.
It features meeting rooms, an event hall, José Martí, as well as outdoor areas for social events or corporate cocktails.
It also offers exclusive benefits for its guests, such as morning tea and coffee service, and afternoon social time.
