SANTO DOMINGO – Telling the story and its characters is part of the commitment of nations and their citizens. Each community has its actors, who, through their actions, write the chapters of the book they wish to create in their lives, which then becomes the legacy for future generations.
Plusval, one of the leading Dominican real estate agencies, wants to document the archives of the sector and for this purpose has started the Pioneers series to show the faces that have given life to the industry, throughout its existence.
“The idea is to highlight the beginning, the trajectory and the future vision of these visionary companies, construction companies, investment funds or individuals who took the first step forward, building differentiating concepts that have managed to be successful,” explains Claudia Guzmán, Real Estate Advisor, specializing in commercial.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of the people and companies behind the iconic high-end commercial, corporate, and residential projects in the Dominican Republic, and who have borne the responsibility of bringing the sector to fruition.
The first guest was Eduardo Tejera, CEO of SOFISA Construction, a family business founded in 2011. Its website defines it as a Dominican construction, project management, and civil works company that satisfies its clients' needs before, during, and after project completion, always focused on meeting quality and safety standards, generating lasting relationships based on experience and professionalism.
During his participation, the executive referred to the various projects he has built in different parts of the city and the interior, and those under construction, including the Da Silva residential buildings, the NC corporate buildings completed in 2010 and 2015; and those from 2019 and 2020 that are still unfinished.
He highlighted the already completed construction of the Home-Suites by Hilton Hotel on Winston Churchill Avenue and the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in La Romana, facing Catalina Island, which is currently under construction.
