Have a good trip!

We begin 2022 with renewed energy, grateful for our health and the opportunity to welcome another year. A year in which we aim to achieve our goals and objectives and continue fulfilling our commitments, from our respective positions, with responsibility and adherence to the truth.

Yesterday, El Inmobiliario reached its fourth month in operation, a time that, although it seems short, has represented a huge challenge, especially in maintaining the pace of providing quality and up-to-date information to our readers.

This new year comes loaded with challenges, some of them repeated, such as the one the world has faced with the calamities of a pandemic that arrived and refuses to leave; its indelible marks have not been enough, it continues its course invading the territories of humanity and halting its normal daily life.

As of December 30, 2021, health authorities in the Dominican Republic reported 4,246 deaths from the disease since the start of the pandemic. The arrival of another variant called Omicron tells us that the battle against COVID-19 will not end anytime soon and that the world must continue to follow health protocols to slow its spread.

Despite the terrible consequences of this historic global event, the real estate sector has experienced significant growth since 2020, and although official figures have not yet been published, all indications suggest that it performed exceptionally well in 2021.

A report we published on December 31st shows that six real estate companies reported experiencing an increase of more than 200% in their property sales, while most holiday reviews from more than 20 agencies indicated record sales during the past year.

Construction remained a key driver of the country's economic growth throughout 2021, as evidenced by reports from the Central Bank. The latest report indicated that, as of November, the sector had experienced a 25.1% year-on-year increase compared to 2020.

In this edition, we present the perspectives of three experienced agents in the sector, who project a good year for the construction field and analyze the scenarios and variables that could cause the growth rate that has characterized recent years to continue.

Happy travels to everyone in 2022! May everything flow according to your plans, and may God grant you health, opportunities, and good business. Thank you for your support of this informational feature.
