PUNTA CANA. – The Puntacana Group announced a series of social projects it carries out for the benefit of the Verón-Punta Cana community, as part of its social policies, including the Punta Cana Children's Diversity Center, the "Ann & Ted Kheel" , and the Óscar de la Renta Pediatric Care Center.

The president of the Puntacana Group, Frank Elías Rainieri, said that these are only the contributions they have made in Verón, while also stating that in the rest of the province, several actions have been carried out.

He stated that the Punta Cana Children's Diversity Center, the "Ann & Ted Kheel" Polytechnic Institute, and the Oscar de la Renta Pediatric Care Center are the most important projects that the business group has contributed in Verón.

“For us, the Punta Cana Children’s Diversity Center is of vital importance because it is a place that will help many children who may not have the opportunity to advance due to some problems they may have,” he said.

He explained that this is a project that fills them with pride because it is a way of cooperating with society, since the initiatives not only provide services to the area, but to the rest of the country.

Paul Beswick, director of the Puntacana Group Foundation, argued, in relation to the educational center, that it is the only secondary school in the community and that it was built with the purpose of helping students who finish basic education and do not have the resources to go to other locations to take up teaching.

He stated that the center has 297 students, offering the last four years of secondary school, and that all graduates possess a technical skill that allows them to enter the workforce. He explained that the center is equipped with all the necessary resources, including laboratories for technology, chemistry, and physics.

Regarding the vision care center, its director, Zato Gómez de Liaño, explained that they have worked with various visual conditions, but especially with diabetics who have glaucoma and cataracts, which are among the most frequent causes of blindness in the country. "But we've treated everything from trauma to accidents of all kinds," he added. Regarding the quality of patients they have seen in the two months they have been operating, he stated that they have treated around a thousand patients.
