SANTO DOMINGO – The multinational steel company Gerdau Metaldom received ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 certification for its Integrated Management System for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment for its plants located in the Duarte Industrial Park in the Dominican Republic.
The Costa Rican Institute of Technical Standards (INTECO) validated compliance with the requirements of the standards for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, international standards that allow companies to certify their commitment to product quality, employee safety and health, environmental protection and customer satisfaction associated with the activity carried out.
“The certification of our Integrated Management System for the manufacturing and marketing of steel products confirms our commitment to sustainability and our firm steps along that path,” said Jefferson Marko, CEO of Gerdau Metaldom.
Obtaining this certification validates that the company's Management Systems comply with legal requirements and strive for continuous improvement.

The Health and Safety Management System seeks to preserve the health and safety of people, eliminate hazards and reduce risks, the Environmental Management System seeks to prevent pollution and the Quality Management System seeks to satisfy customers with the quality of products and services.
Gerdau Metaldom is the leading steel manufacturing company in the Dominican Republic, with an installed capacity of over one million tons per year.
The company has a production plant in the Duarte Industrial Park in Santo Domingo and also has a generating plant on the Malecón in Santo Domingo, as well as distribution centers in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, thus serving the Dominican, Central American and Caribbean markets.
