Peruvians propose to create a satellite city in La Otra Banda-Higüey; while announcing a project of 100 luxury villas.
SANTO DOMINGO.- Ismael Rubio, a businessman who, along with a group of foreign partners, has acquired more than 5 million square meters in the municipal district of La Otra Banda, in Higüey, La Altagracia province, said that the political stability that the Dominican Republic is experiencing motivates foreign capital to invest here in the long term.
“We conducted a market study in the region in 2022, and it showed that this was the ideal destination for doing business. The Dominican Republic is a wonderful country,” Rubio stated in an interview during the handover of the first phase of Alta Vista Village, a villa complex of more than a thousand units that the investor is building in that community.
“The political stability of the Dominican Republic allows for long-term investments. That's very important for an investor. First, you have to assess what's happening at the political level,” he said.

He explained that Inversiones e Inmobiliaria Huacachina, a company with over 15 years in the Peruvian market, has set itself the goal of creating a satellite city in the town of La Otra Banda. “A satellite city with shopping centers; we have very advanced talks with a chain to build one. We also have almost confirmation of a gas station they want to name Alta Vista,” he stated.
He stated that they have plans to install restaurants and that he knows businesspeople from his country interested in bringing foreign investment "who want to come here and be part of this important development. Because our vision is not to just sell lots and villas," he emphasized.
He emphasized the kindness of the people. “It’s a blessed country. It’s a paradise on earth,” he said.
Together with local businesses, the entrepreneurs have created the Association of Real Estate Developers, whose purpose is to ensure compliance with regulations. “We will make sure our clients receive what they were promised, and we, as a company, will help our mayor ensure that all regulations are enforced, so that the area is free of these unscrupulous developers who keep deceiving people.”.
Project launch
Ismael Rubio also led the launch of the new Lagoon project, a gated community of 100 homes built around a lagoon. He explained that the homes will sit on 600 square meter lots with 280 square meter homes featuring high-end finishes, four bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a lobby, a family room, a bar, a hot and cold kitchen, a swimming pool overlooking the lagoon, and other amenities.
“This project will not only include that, but will also have a play area, a bonfire area, and a grilling area,” the businessman stated.
Ariel Grasso explained the payment options for the complex, which can be reserved with a thousand dollars and whose monthly payments will reach approximately USD 1,600.
