First forum held on "Challenges and Opportunities in the Real Estate Sector"

SANTO DOMINGO.- the real estate company Apartamentos RD organized the first forum " Challenges and Opportunities of the Real Estate Sector ," a meeting that brought together businesspeople and leaders from the construction sector to discuss positive actions that will contribute to strengthening the real estate industry in the Dominican Republic.

The event brought together key players with the aim of uniting efforts to establish the foundations that guarantee optimal functioning of the sector, and where attendees shared their perspectives and experiences on the impact and growth of the real estate and construction sectors.

Robert De La Cruz , CEO of Apartamentos RD, emphasized the importance of the forum in creating a space for dialogue and collaboration. “With this forum, we aim to set a precedent for a unified discussion of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, promoting regulation, trust, and closer relationships among the various stakeholders. Furthermore, we want to expedite the prevention and resolution of conflicts,” stated De La Cruz.

During the meeting, key topics were discussed that are fundamental to the future of the real estate sector, such as reputation strategies and crisis management, strengthening legal processes and the regulatory framework , and sector growth and financial challenges for 2025 .

A press release highlights that during the day Ernesto Mejía, Vice Minister of Policies and Planning of the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED), gave a preliminary presentation of the digital platform that will provide visibility, compliance status and progress of real estate projects.

In addition, the forum highlighted the proposed observations presented by the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies (AEI), related to the draft law on real estate intermediation that is being processed in the National Congress.

The press release highlights that the meeting concluded with a call for unity among all sectors, promoting the integration of public and private policies, with a regulatory framework that guarantees transparency and protection for clients and prospective buyers.

The forum was attended by representatives of trade associations, business owners, builders and developers in the sector, who reaffirmed their commitment to the development and regulation of the real estate market in the Dominican Republic.
