Santo Domingo.- When it comes to mortgage guarantees, the appraisal plays a basic role, as it represents the basis for the values of the guarantees of the loans that banks disburse to the purchasers of real estate.
ITADO, the Dominican Institute of Appraisers, is the association that brings them together in the country and announced yesterday the holding of the XXXV Pan-American ITADO/UPAV Congress, scheduled from October 20 to 22 at the Hard Rock Hotel, Punta Cana.
The meeting will bring together the best appraisers from the different countries that make up the Pan American Union of Valuation Associations (UPAV) along with invited nations, details a press document sent by the entity.
Fabio García, president of ITADO, highlighted that around 400 participants will have access to keynote lectures, courses and presentations, making it the most important valuation activity for the region.

Among the speakers are Deligne Ascensión, Minister of Public Works, Alejandro Fernández W., Superintendent of Banks of the Dominican Republic, and Nick Talbot, CEO of the IVSC based in London.
The Dominican Institute of Appraisers has been establishing important activities for the training of Dominican appraisers, helping to the stability of the financial sector and the country's economy.
ITADO is the country representative of the Pan-American Union of Valuation Associations (UPAV), an institution that brings together 19 appraisers' associations from 18 countries across the Americas and Spain. During the 2021-2022 biennium, UPAV is headquartered in the Dominican Republic, under the presidency of Engineer José Alberto Beras.
It is the only organization of professionals in the appraisal of movable and immovable property that unites, represents, and defends their professional practice, offers technical and specialized training, and ensures respect for the Code of Ethics in the actions of Dominican appraisers. Founded on February 27, 1975, and incorporated by Executive Decree No. 1413 of October 24, 1975.
