SANTO DOMINGO. Qik Banco Digital Dominicano, a multiple-service bank and subsidiary of Grupo Popular, presented its disruptive banking services model as the country's first neobank, offering an end-to-end digital experience that is highly intuitive and personalized, providing customers with greater control and financial freedom.
President Luis Abinader and the main authorities of the Dominican financial system, Héctor Valdez Albizu, governor of the Central Bank; and Alejandro Fernández, superintendent of Banks, accompanied the launch of the new model, where the expansion of Qik's product portfolio was also announced with a new personal loan, a debit card and more benefits for its customers.
The top executives of Qik Banco Digital and Grupo Popular, led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the parent company, Manuel A. Grullón, welcomed clients, public opinion leaders and digital communities, among other guests, in an immersive environment, which reflected the innovative character of this new banking subsidiary.
Grullón indicated that Qik, as the country's first 100% digital bank, constitutes "an instrument for the transformation of personal finance," defined by a culture of innovation, which is one of the organizational values of Grupo Popular and which guides the organization towards "what it can do for clients and the population, providing them with the necessary tools to definitively empower themselves over their finances.".
“We demonstrate with actions the commitment made to our clients and Dominican society, in the sense of reinforcing our vocation to innovate, to continue creating new companies, to diversify and expand the business portfolio of the parent company, in order to generate jobs and continue contributing to the economic and social development of the country,” said Mr. Grullón.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qik Banco Digital, Alejandro Santelises, emphasized that this passion for innovation allows them to offer an agile banking experience, always focused "on the purpose of creating products that exceed customer expectations through a people-centered banking experience at a lower cost.".
Among these benefits, he announced the upcoming launch of the Qik Personal Loan, a unique product in the market, with immediate approval and a fully digital and personalized application.
He also explained that they will launch the new Qik Debit Card, from the Visa brand, which will give the user more control and security, and that it will be linked to the Qik Account, paying an annual interest rate of 4% and the option to organize savings by goals.
He added that the Qik Credit Card, from the Mastercard brand, which was the first product of this banking entity, will very soon offer the user the possibility of personalizing their cashback and automatically applying service payments to the card.
The neobank will also launch the Cash Code feature, which will allow customers to withdraw cash from a Qik account at ATMs.
