Dominican Port Authority launches its new mobile application

SANTO DOMINGO. -With the aim of advancing its digital strategy and carrying out more efficient work, the Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM) presented its new institutional application, a mobile app, to bring the services offered by the institution closer to its users.

The initiative will allow for the monitoring and management of processes, and also provide solutions that meet the needs of users.

At the launch event, Jean Luis Rodríguez, executive director of APORDOM, stated that the implementation of technological tools in the management of government institutions improves efficiency and transparency in services, establishing more direct and accessible information channels for citizens.

“The new mobile application we are launching today reflects this commitment, providing a direct contact channel that brings services closer to everyone in a more efficient and accessible way. Under President Luis Abinader's administration, we have once again become agents of change, driving the transformation our country deserves,” stated the head of APORDOM.

For his part, Juan Mármol, Director of Information and Communication Technology, when presenting the app, pointed out that with just one click, all the information at the logistical level will be available to citizens. “We will have all the services and information of interest to the sector.”.

Meanwhile, Stanley Lara, CEO of Solvex Dominicana, indicated that the technique will facilitate access to ports, obtaining information about the port system, maps, tariffs, among other things.

With the use of the APP, developed by Solvex Dominicana, users will have access to all the information of the entity, activities, management of procedures, news and services of the Dominican Port Authority from their cell phones, available for IOS and Android.

They will also be able to track port openings and the training schedule planned for the year.

The meeting was attended by Alejandro Campos, president of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority, APORDOM executive sub-directors, and departmental directors.

Also present were the Director General of the Specialized Port Security Corps (CESEP), Rear Admiral Henry Antonio Guzmán Taveras, ARD, Erik Alma, President of Haina International Terminals (HIT), Manuel Martínez, President of DP World, and special guests.

The technological implementation will also allow for calculations to be performed using the tariff schedule, which corresponds to storage, both export and import.
Furthermore, Ship Chandler license services (renewal and issuance), as well as tugboat licenses, reconsiderations, and other services, will include direct access via a button to the VUCE portal, since these services are only available through these platforms.
