SANTO DOMINGO. – A delegation of executives and representatives from the Dominican tourism sector traveled to Bogotá, Colombia to participate in the "ANATO Tourism Showcase," whose 43rd edition is being held from Wednesday, February 28th to Friday, March 1st, in that South American country.
The Dominican delegation traveled on Arajet airline, which made a flight for the first time from Puerto Plata to Bogotá, Colombia, as part of the efforts to promote connectivity within the framework of the event that, since 1982, has been consolidating itself as the most important tourism event in Colombia.
Victor Pacheco Méndez, CEO & Founder of Arajet, explained that this flight was made up of a delegation of more than 150 people headed by representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, the Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores), business community of the city of Puerto Plata and media.
“Arajet is very pleased to support these types of actions to promote initiatives that improve the country's air connectivity, thus contributing to the development of tourism in the northern region of the Dominican Republic,” explained Pacheco Méndez.
ANATO is the main tourism fair in Colombia and one of the most important in Latin America, and thanks to the country's successful participation in this event in 2023, the Arajet routes were born that today connect Santiago de los Caballeros with Medellín and Bogotá.

In 2023, the 42nd edition of the Tourism Showcase took place and featured the participation of various countries, all departments of Colombia and companies in the sector, registering more than 38,000 visits in three days of business, highlighting the quality of the attending professionals.
In both 2014 and 2023, the Dominican Republic served as the guest country, while in this edition, which will be held at the Corferias business center in Bogotá, Colombia, it will be Puerto Rico.
