Common problems in a house and their solutions

Household routines often come with unexpected events and everyday problems that take up time and require solutions. Here are some of the most common ones and their possible solutions.

Scarcity of natural light: how to make the most of every ray of sunshine

Yes, we read it everywhere: natural light greatly influences our mood and is a fundamental element of interior design. However, it doesn't always depend on us, but rather on the room's orientation. What we can do is maximize the natural light that enters by applying these tips:

– Place large mirrors on the walls to reflect the light.
– Paint the walls in light colors.
– Avoid dark furniture.
– Use sheer curtains that provide privacy without blocking out light.
– Leave bedroom doors open to allow light to flow throughout the house.
– If possible, opt for an open-plan layout, combining the kitchen and living room.

Clutter: how to avoid it

We shouldn't just strive for order at home for the sake of harmonious living; it's also said to have a significant impact on our mood. We don't know if this has been scientifically proven, but personally, we can attest that it does. That's why baskets, organizers, and other storage solutions are an essential part of our homes.

Toys and stories: anyone with children at home will have had to live with a certain amount of clutter, but we're going to try to bring some control to it with multi-purpose storage boxes, which we can easily store in closets and under the bed.

Bathroom organization: the smallest space in the house, yet where we need to store the most accessories and products. Something's not right! But don't worry, we're going to solve it with modular shelving, suitable for the bathroom, laundry room, and dining room.

Lack of storage in the kitchen: we don't know why, but the kitchen cabinets seem to fill up on their own. In fact, sometimes we even struggle to reach certain utensils. To bring some order and accessibility, we're going to turn to shelving again.

Cluttered closets: another big challenge, especially now that we're facing the wardrobe change. That's why it's the perfect opportunity to create the closet of our dreams with the help of Baobab baskets and, above all, multipurpose boxes, which we'll use to store out-of-season clothes in the trunk or under the bed.

Dreaded dampness: how to prevent condensation

The cold and rainy season is here, and with it comes dampness in homes. If it's due to leaks, the problem is structural, and we'll need to seek professional help. However, if it's due to condensation, then the solution is in our own hands:

– Ventilate every morning, first thing, for 15 minutes, opening opposite windows of the house to allow cross ventilation.

-Use dehumidifiers in more sensitive areas.
-Open the windows after showering or cooking.
