CODIA reaffirms support for the Santo Domingo Metro renovation

SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) reiterated its support for the expansion and modernization of the Santo Domingo Metro, a key project for the transformation of the transportation system in the capital.

The statement was made during a recent visit to the facilities of the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET), where the president of CODIA, Carlos Mendoza, met with the director of OPRET, Rafael Santos, to learn firsthand about the progress in the execution of the work.

This intervention by CODIA reaffirms the entity's commitment to the development of infrastructure projects that guarantee quality, sustainability and the well-being of the population, a press release highlights.

Mendoza explained that this type of visit seeks to strengthen inter-institutional alliances between the main entities involved in the construction and development of the country.

Other encounters

An example of this collaborative approach was the recent event organized by CODIA, which brought together professionals from various sectors to discuss key issues for advancing engineering, architecture, and surveying in the Dominican Republic. The goal was to foster greater cooperation among institutions, streamlining processes within the sector to ensure more efficient growth.

In both activities, Mendoza reiterated CODIA's commitment to sustainable development and quality in infrastructure construction, as well as to the consolidation of inter-institutional alliances that, in the long term, will foster a more prosperous future for the country.

The president of CODIA was accompanied by members of the institution's board, including architect George Richardson, agronomist Yrene López, civil engineer Alejandro García, and engineer Checo. Also participating in the second event were prominent figures in the sector, such as geomatics expert Enrique Rosario, engineer Francis Medina, Bredyg Disla, Alda Reyes, architect Enrique Félix, and engineer Manuel Inoa.

In these efforts, CODIA reiterated its commitment to working jointly with the government and private sector institutions to continue promoting the development of key projects that improve the quality of life of citizens and strengthen the country's infrastructure.
