OMSA, Metro and Cable Car announce services for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
SANTO DOMINGO – The Metropolitan Bus Services Operator (OMSA), the Santo Domingo Metro, and the Cable Car announced through official statements that they will offer their services with special schedules during December 31 and January 1, in order to guarantee the mobility of citizens during the New Year's Eve and New Year's festivities.
OMSA announced that on Wednesday, December 31, its buses will run from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Thursday, January 1, New Year's Day, service will be offered from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
For Three Kings Day, whose holiday will be moved to Monday, January 5, 2026, the entity specified that the hours will also be from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The general manager of OMSA, Onéximo González, reiterated his call for prudence and urged citizens to welcome the new year with common sense, avoiding excesses and abstaining from drinking alcohol if they are going to drive.
Subway and Cable Car
The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET) announced via its social media channels that the Santo Domingo Metro will operate on December 31st from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On January 1st, service will be offered from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The agency also announced on its digital platforms that the Santo Domingo Cable Car will operate on December 31st from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On January 1st, the hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
