SANTO DOMINGO. -The Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation and Centro León signed an agreement with the Dominican airline Arajet, with the aim of developing joint initiatives and strengthening educational activities for the training of specialized personnel in arts, and the international promotion of the visual arts exhibitions that the center carries out.
As part of the agreement, the institutions will implement strategies to jointly provide a cultural experience for Arajet travelers, integrating elements of art and culture that enrich the passenger experience.
The agreement was signed by Víctor Miguel Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of the airline; María Amalia León, president of the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation; and María Luisa Asilis, executive director of the Centro León.

Pacheco Méndez said the purpose of the agreement is to strengthen educational ties. (External source).
For her part, María Amalia León said that "having an alliance with Arajet makes us feel strengthened in the process of attracting the interest of our Dominican community abroad.".
Also present were Otto González, Chief of Staff, and Lucy Pérez, VP Legal, of Arajet; María Elena Aguayo, executive director of the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation; Maigualida Pérez, manager of Emisora Raíces; and Sara Hermann, chief curator of the Centro León.
Among the projects of the Centro León that will have the support of Arajet are exhibitions and educational programs that will contribute to the development and visibility of Dominican and Caribbean art and culture:
“Healing the Caribbean, The Kingdom of Our World: An Archaeology of the Marvelous from Caribbean Art, and the Hispanic Caribbean Insular Conference Series: A Possible Archipelago,” they explained after the signing of the agreement.
Arajet is the first low-cost airline in the Caribbean region, which began operations in September 2022 from its base at Las Américas Airport in Santo Domingo under its Dominican Republic Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
The Centro León is a museum and cultural center designed for creativity, research, encounter, and enjoyment for all audiences, both Dominican and international. It was inaugurated to commemorate the centennial of the founding of La Aurora, the León family's first company. The completion of this project consolidates the León family's long-standing commitment to and support of art and culture, which they have fostered through the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation.
