“Ultimately, over these 20 years our significant investment is evident in the world-class infrastructure we provide to all our owners, investors and visitors
Madrid, Spain . 3 billion dollars invested, 7,400 hotel and residential rooms built, 1,200 units under construction, more than 16,000 direct and indirect jobs, are some of the achievements that Cap Cana Destination City, the country's main luxury real estate tourism development, located in the East of the Dominican Republic, boasts twenty years later.
Within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2022, its main executives, accompanied by President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, announced the formal start of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of its founding.
“It is worth noting that this is the largest private sector tourism real estate development in Latin America, and also the only one in the country that, despite its considerable size, has 100% Dominican shareholders,” said Fernando Hazoury, president of the board of directors.
In his speech, he highlighted that Cap Cana Destination City is the only one that was born with a fully conceptualized master plan in 110 million square meters, and that today it can celebrate its great achievements.
Having reached two decades as the favorite tourist destination of the international market, "Cap Cana is a mature, financially consolidated development that has overcome the difficulties it has faced, and that demonstrates solid strength.".
Also present at the event were the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, the Dominican Republic's ambassador to Spain, Juan Bolívar Díaz, and other government officials, representatives of Dominican businesses, and the tourism sector.

“Today it is a destination city, which has positioned itself as a national brand, with more than 3 billion dollars invested, some 7,400 rooms built between hotels and residences, in addition to some 1,200 in the process of construction, generating more than 16,000 direct and indirect jobs, which translates into well-being for all Dominicans,” added Hazoury, who in turn thanked the large international hotel chains that have joined the effort, making Cap Cana the benchmark of high-quality hospitality in the country, and consolidating it as a luxury destination.
“Ultimately, over these 20 years our great investment is evident in the world-class infrastructure that we provide to all our owners, investors and visitors,” he stated.
“With this, we continue to contribute to the tourism sector and support President Luis Abinader, his Minister of Tourism David Collado, and his entire cabinet in their commitment to working for this industry, which has contributed so much to the recovery of the Dominican economy in recent times. Cap Cana, along with our colleagues and friends in the tourism, real estate, and hotel sectors, strives every day to continue attracting foreign investment,” he concluded.
