SANTO DOMINGO - Cabarete will become the epicenter of water sports, culture and rhythm with the Cabarete Wing Fest + Jazz, from June 19 to 22, when its emblematic beach will be transformed into the Caribbean capital of adrenaline, music and sustainability.
The vibrant Cabarete Wing Fest merges with the prestigious Cabarete Jazz Festival and offers a program that combines the physical demands of wingfoil flying and the musical passion of jazz, in a few days that promise to win over those seeking intense emotions by the sea.
“We aspire for Cabarete to be experienced in every dimension: nature, sport, art, community and sustainable tourism,” says Audrey Leona Meyer, organizer of the event, who also highlights the commitment to responsible and accessible tourism for all.
The event coincided with the Corpus Christi holiday and is open to the public as spectators—only prior registration is required for wingfoil participants—; ticket sales for the concerts are active on the Festival's official website.
The program offers activities from the early hours of the day, when the steady winds and perfect waves of Cabarete—considered the premier windsports destination in the Caribbean—will provide the ideal setting for wingfoil competitions. Professional and amateur athletes will face off in adrenaline-filled events, while the public can enjoy introductory clinics, exhibitions, food stalls, and local culture.
As evening falls, the sand will dress up to welcome the most anticipated nights: June 20 and 21 will shine to the rhythm of the Cabarete Jazz Festival, with world-class artists such as Arturo Sandoval and Paquito D'Rivera, from the country Pavel Núñez and Josean Jacobo, among others, who will perform on an exceptional stage in front of the sea.
The combination of wind, waves, rhythm, and jazz makes this weekend a magnet for national and international visitors eager to experience the best of Cabarete. With the support of the tourism sector, local communities, and authorities, the Cabarete Wing Fest + Jazz is poised to be one of the most vibrant events of the year in the region, with its blend of classic rhythms, Caribbean fusions, and a bohemian atmosphere, inviting couples, families, and music lovers to enjoy unforgettable experiences under the Atlantic moon.
Cabarete, located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, is now positioning itself not only as a magnet for wind and adventure sports, but also as an attractive cultural destination on an international level. More than just a sporting event, this festival offers a comprehensive experience that promises to energize the destination with dynamism, diversity, and a strong focus on sustainable tourism.
