SANTO DOMINGO. - For lovers of design and urbanism, this year the country will host two important events that will bring together professionals and associates to highlight the best of architecture.
After a 12-year absence, the International Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism of the Dominican Republic (BIAURD 2024) returns, an event that will take place starting on November 5, on the occasion of the celebration of Dominican Architecture Day.
With the theme "Utopias: building ideas for the future", this meeting will have Italy as the guest country and will feature the outstanding participation of the architect Stefano Boeri.
The relaunch of this biennial was a joint effort between the country's Society of Architects (SARD) and the Ministry of Culture.
This event represents a milestone in celebrating the achievements of Dominican architects and urban planners, and is a call to action and collective commitment to create spaces that contribute to social well-being, environmental preservation, and the sustainable development of communities.
This year the meeting will be dedicated to the architect Francisco Manuel Batista Bisonó (Cuqui), for his ability to imagine, design and build ideas for the future.
The activity is part of the Latin American Architecture Biennials Network (REDBAAL), and will offer a dynamic space to bring together the best professionals in the sector, share ideas and explore new trends.
