Around 400 participants will have access to keynote lectures, courses and presentations, making it the most important valuation activity for the region.

The 35th Pan-American Valuation Congress will be held this coming weekend (22-24) in Punta Cana, to share new knowledge and update appraisers from various parts of the world on the subject of their competence.
The meeting is sponsored by the Pan American Union of Valuation Associations (UPAV) and the Dominican Institute of Appraisers (ITADO); and is identified as “XXXV Pan American Valuation Congress UPAV Dominican Republic 2021”.
It will bring together prominent speakers, who will exchange experiences with professionals working in asset valuation in the region.
For three days, participants will review valuations for mortgage loans, agricultural properties, machinery and equipment, intangibles, among other topics, with the intention of strengthening their professional practice.
A document from UPAV states that since its founding in 1949, the entity has upheld as a fundamental policy the dissemination of technical knowledge and the stimulation of the improvement of professionals who work in the area of asset valuation and who are part of the guild.
The keynote lectures will include “The Added Value Generated by the Development of State Works,” which will be facilitated by Deligne Asención, Minister of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC); Perspectives and New Developments, Nick Talbot, CEO of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC); and Terry Dunkin, coordinator of the International Relations Committee of the Appraisal Institute's International Body of Knowledge.
The organizers point out that, as part of the program, there will be a pre-congress course with the following topics: Business Valuation, Basic Principles of Real Estate Evaluation, Economic Valuation of Real Estate, and Income-Based Approach Methods, which will combine virtual and in-person modalities.
