APAP reports obtaining international certifications for workplace safety and environmental management

The financial institution invested more than 500 million pesos in renewable practices and projects for cladding on ventilated facades and glass curtain walls with technology as an ally.

SANTO DOMINGO - The Popular Association of Savings and Loans (APAP) reported that it received ISO 45001 certification for its occupational health and safety management system and ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system, reaffirming the entity's commitment to international best practices.

APAP is the first financial intermediation entity in the country to obtain both certifications.

The international standard ISO 14001 is a globally recognized standard for establishing an effective Environmental Management System, with the purpose of improving the environmental performance of organizations, complying with applicable legislation and achieving strategic environmental objectives.

For its part, ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems, designed to protect workers and visitors from accidents and occupational diseases.

"This vision responds to our institutional objective of operating ethically, responsibly and in harmony with the environment," highlighted APAP's CEO, Gustavo Ariza, upon receiving the international certifications from AENOR's country director, Ariel Espejo.

APAP's main offices in Santo Domingo and Santiago are also recognized as cardio-protected spaces by the American Heart Association, reinforcing its commitment to the health and well-being of its employees, clients, and visitors.

In environmental terms, APAP's buildings feature energy efficiency, a fast charging station for electric vehicles, solar panels, and bicycle parking.

"At APAP, we have invested more than 500 million pesos in renewable practices and high technology for ventilated facade cladding, glass curtain walls, and the proper environmental management of our operations," Ariza emphasized

“We are proud of the Popular Savings and Loan Association (APAP) for its commitment to safety and the environment. Obtaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications reflects its continuous effort to adopt best practices, ensuring a safe work environment and a positive environmental impact,” highlighted Ariel Espejo, director of AENOR Dominican Republic.
