SANTO DOMINGO.- Collaboration and sharing knowledge among colleagues are among the great virtues that characterize real estate advisor Ana Karina Calderón, CEO of Top One Realty.

His beginnings in the real estate market date back to 2018, six years ago. It all started in Santo Domingo, specifically in the Honduras sector, after he had made his first resale of a penthouse.

During her interview with El Inmobiliario, Ana revealed another defining trait: her gratitude. She mentioned key people who helped her enter and grow in the sector, such as Altagracia Matos and Olga Ortega, whom she considers fundamental to her professional journey.

“I thank all the colleagues who supported me in my beginnings and still collaborate with us today,” these were his words to continue thanking everyone for the support received.

Calderón, who was born in the heart of the capital, is a person who deeply values ​​family. For this reason, she wanted to become a real estate advisor, as her driving force is helping clients and their families acquire a property with the best "features and conditions.".

When talking about how he feels when closing a transaction, he expresses in a few words the following: I feel "great satisfaction in having helped my clients acquire their property.".

Ana has pursued several professional paths. Her first was a degree in business administration. Following this, she studied graphic design for advertising and completed numerous diplomas and training courses in real estate and related fields.

Through his real estate agency, he explains that he focuses on projects and properties for residential purposes, encompassing both resales and investment options.

Furthermore, it indicates that they have experience in land for real estate development purposes and commercial premises.

The real estate sector in the Dominican Republic

Among her concerns about the real estate sector in the Dominican Republic, the expert expresses that agents have had a concern that revolves around the regulation of this profession in the country.

“We have had concerns, but now with the new law proposed by our AEI (Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies), to which I am affiliated and which we congratulate for the initiative and its excellent performance, it will regulate our real estate sector if approved, which is something we need,” she said.

In that regard, it points out the importance of continuing to modernize and develop digital tools that facilitate the consultation of statistics, allowing access to information on properties sold by area, values ​​per square meter, among other key data.

Ana Karina Calderón addressed a sensitive issue within this market: is there unity among the agents in the sector? Her direct and precise answer was "that there is a great deal of interest in unity.".

According to the agent, the right steps are being taken to make this a reality.

“From the beginning, I started creating content to encourage unity in the real estate sector, and I have always had a great interest in having greater communication between real estate agencies and colleagues, since from the moment I joined I noticed that it is an aspect that can be improved,” he stated.

Delving deeper into this topic, she mentioned the initiative of her colleague Marisol Shanlatte, who created the CEO Inmobiliaria RD community, a project she is part of that aims to allow professionals in the field, as well as companies and their teams, to exchange knowledge and support each other.

Contributions of the real estate agent in the country

One thing he is very clear about is that every real estate agent contributes to society in several ways. He emphasizes that this primarily occurs by promoting and collaborating in the growth of the country's economy.

“We help families acquire their dream properties, as well as investors make their real estate investments,” he added.

A legacy he wants to leave: greater unity among colleagues

Achieving greater unity among real estate agents has become a key objective for Ana Calderón. She has already taken the first steps toward this goal.

In 2021, this journey began with the creation of a WhatsApp group called “Top Colleagues.” Currently, 125 professionals are part of this group, collaborating on the search and publication of their properties and exclusive listings.

“Additionally, I have always had many initiatives and have held meetings among colleagues, encouraging networking, collaboration and contributions,” added the real estate agent.
